Wetland Level Monitoring

A fully independent, solar-powered monitoring station measuring the real water level of a wetland with radar, with an edge server on site.

The challenge

Measure the real water level of a wetland, in a remote location with no mains power and no existing infrastructure.

The solution

We deployed a radar level sensor at the water to measure the actual water level. The readings travel over LoRaWAN to an off-grid gateway, installed together with a weather station and powered by a full solar system.

An edge server on site makes the station fully independent, so data keeps being collected and handled locally.

The result

A monitoring station that runs entirely on its own, giving a continuous record of the water level together with local weather conditions.
