Cold Chain & Freezer Monitoring

Wireless temperature and door monitoring for cold storage, from standard units down to -86°C ultra-low freezers, all on LoRaWAN.

The challenge

Temperature-sensitive products and samples have to stay within range around the clock, and different units need different sensors: standard units, freezers and ultra-low freezers running at -86°C.

The solution

We deployed a LoRaWAN monitoring network built around the Milesight TS302 temperature sensor. Standard sensors cover the regular chillers and freezers, while dedicated low-temperature sensors handle the -86°C freezers, which need sensors rated for those temperatures.

Door sensors add the missing context: a temperature change is much easier to interpret when you know whether a door was left open. Everything is wireless over LoRaWAN.

The result

One network for every cold unit, from standard to ultra-low, with temperature and door status in the same place.
